Battery Component Replacement
BCR
A permanent replacement for the 9-volt battery used in compatible Lionel and M.T.H. locomotives.
Eliminate many of the problems associated with dead locomotive batteries without modifying your engine.
Battery Component Replacement
A Simple Solution
The BCR looks like a 9 volt battery, works like a 9 volt battery, but doesn't act like a 9 volt battery.
Why BCR?
The problem with locomotive batteries.
If you store or display your engines and later decide to run them, you may discover that a dead battery causes problems.
An M.T.H. engine may not operate, or the M.T.H. and Lionel sound systems may not shut down properly because the battery has discharged.
The BCR permanently replaces that 9-volt battery and can remain installed in the locomotive indefinitely.
Installation
Designed to fit where the battery was.
Operation
Getting your locomotive running.
After the BCR is installed, apply track power at 10 volts or more for one minute with the locomotive in the reset position — the first position when the engine is turned on.
After that minute, the locomotive will be able to fully operate, just as it would with a fully charged battery.
Apply track power at 10 volts or more.
Leave the engine in the reset position.
The locomotive is ready for normal operation.
After You Run
Ready when you come back.
After track power is turned off, the BCR will hold a charge for approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on the engine.
If the locomotive has not been operated for 2 to 3 hours, simply power it up again in the reset position for one minute at 10 volts or more.
Because the BCR can remain in the engine indefinitely, you no longer have to replace the conventional battery or be concerned about that battery leaking and damaging the engine.
